Good afternoon, I'm _____________ and here are the headlines. Bail was posted today for the local man in jail following a high speed police chase through the city.

The man, now identified as 33-year old Marvin Williams, told reporters he was simply trying to get his wife to the hospital. 

Police are dismantling the car Williams was driving for possible hidden drugs. Williams, suspected of having stolen more than 100 automobiles in the metro area, is also believed to be responsible for a rash of other felony thefts.

In national news, the President's vacation was cut short today following urgent news from the White House. 

A White House advisor announced today that he was about to embark on a mission to free American hostages in Jakarta. 

Upon his return to Washington, the 
President informed the advisor that there are currently no known American hostages in Jakarta. 

In sports, will he ever retire? Denver Broncos' Super-Bowl-winning quarterback John Elway just can't seem to leave the game.

Even though he announced his retirement, rumor are flying that the "pushing 40" quarterback may come back for more. Neither Elway's trainer nor his manager could be reached for comment.

Besides being the oldest, Elway has been the highest paid quarterback in the NFL.

Today's weather forecast continues to look fair and mild for the remainder of the day. Temperatures will drop to the low 40s overnight. And tomorrow looks to be warm and sunny here in the metro area.
